Saulo Martelli

Dr Saulo Martelli is appointed as Senior Lecturer in the College of Science and Engineering at Flinders University. He has received a PhD in Biomechanical Engineering (2008) from the University of Bologna, Italy. His post-doctoral fellowship on musculoskeletal mechanics at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, Italy, and the University of Melbourne, Australia. Dr Martelli is a Future Fellow of the Australian Research Council, member of the European Society of Biomechanics and of the Australian & New Zeeland Orthopaedic Society. Dr Martelli research focus on musculoskeletal science by combining laboratory tests, human experiments and computational methods to study the interaction between anatomy, material properties and function in healthy and pathological systems. His research seeks impact to orthopaedic, exercise and material science. Dr Martelli has published approximately 30 journal papers and he is a chief investigator for the Australian Research Council and industry.
