Susan Kurrle
Susan Kurrle AO is a geriatrician practising at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital in northern Sydney and at Batemans Bay Hospital in southern NSW. She holds the Curran Chair in Health Care of Older People in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. Her research and practice interests centre on frailty, dementia, elder abuse, successful ageing, and intergenerational care. She currently leads a NHMRC funded research project looking at identification of frailty in older patients admitted to hospital, and developing interventions to address frailty which continue into the community with ongoing general practitioner input. She is also very involved in the Emmy Award winning ABC series "Old People's Home for 4 Year Olds" and the current "Old People's Home for Teenagers" which show how intergenerational programs can improve quality of life in older people.
